One year ago today I quit my job. I started my own business and I couldn’t be happier. It wasn’t easy, in fact, it was quite difficult. But all that matters is that it’s working, it’s growing, and I didn’t give up.
If you’re in a situation that you’re not happy with, get out of it. Do what you really want to do. Believe in your own ideas more than those of others. Don’t let anyone ever tell you that you can’t do something. They’re absolutely full of shit. In order to prove them wrong, though, you have to be willing to put in the time, effort, and focus to do it (if you shake your head at this, don’t bother).
One of my favorite songs is so aptly named: Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space. Nobody knows why we’re here, where we’re going, or what we’re supposed to do. Take advantage of that fact and live a life that means something to you. You don’t have to be a millionaire, a celebrity, or any other vapid crap we uphold as a society. Just do what feels right and makes you happy. The only person you have to live up to is yourself. Never forget that.
